Abu Dhabi Executive Council Decision No. 122/2023 grants additional competencies to the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre. The center is now responsible for managing and organizing public health pest control services in the Emirate. They will develop and implement programs and activities related to pest control, as well as conduct necessary studies in this field. The center is also authorized to propose legislations and standards for public health pest control and license and supervise entities, companies, and individuals working in this field. The Chairman of the Department of Health will issue the necessary resolutions for implementing this decision. The Department of Health, in coordination with the Department of Municipalities and Transport and other relevant entities, will transfer assets, properties, rights, and obligations related to pest control to the center. Employees involved in pest control will also be transferred to the center while maintaining their financial and retirement allocations. A transitional plan will be developed to ensure a smooth transfer of operations within six months. The budgets allocated for pest control in 2023, including salaries, entitlements, contracts, and agreements, will be transferred to the center. The Department of Finance will take the necessary measures in accordance with regulations. The decision was issued on 31 July 2023 by the Secretary-General, Saif Saeed Ghobash.
